a portrait of feathers is a bite-sized visual novel about an angel and someone they've watched over. it was created within a week for O2A2 2022 game jam! i cut it pretty close to the deadline but I hope you can enjoy it anyway!

Nice simple story. To be honest, it feels like there can be an interesting story if you expand on this more.

I'd be more than happy if ever this game were to be expanded to a much larger game, with more time and better take to the plot it could definitely be much more! Specially since there are so many mysteries yet to be known from the game :DD I really like this 'angel' that we speak of... He's such an interesting character.

Your art is very nostalgic, for some reason: It has the pretty, fragile, slightly guro-esque appeal as 90s/early 2000s gothic shoujo art, which works perfectly for the game's initially calm atmosphere and how it segued into unsettling as the angel (?) became more obviously unhinged. The sole background was also well-chosen, creating a perfect holy/sinister atmosphere. I'm still not completely sure what's happening (I have my theories!) but I'm intrigued by the fragments of background we get, and I'd love to play any further games that expand on this world/this angel/this hapless MC. Thanks for making this game available so that people like me could play it!

This game is really good, I'd love to see more endings or a 2nd version of it.

despite it being a bite sized visual novel, i still enjoyed it to the fullest! i love how the angel seems to be well meaning despite the dark undertones here and there. your art is also very eye catching, and i hope it continues to flourish in the future! (the angel is also very pretty.....)

The name of the song is 熾天使セラフィエル (Seraph Seraphiel) by Beemyu from their Fallen Angel music collection! I've bought a few of their songs and they're very pretty! I should have their webpage linked in the credits in game if you want to check them out. As for social media, unfortunately, I've always ended up abandoning my socials due to anxiety but I do plan to gather the courage to start a twitter sooner or later for art and updates on future projects so I'll make sure to announce it when I do. Omg this angel guy is seriously pretty but I also love the plot of this visual novel. Especially with how innocent the angel loved MC but then it got corrupted due to loneliness. I'm curious why he's stuck in the cathedral though, but other than that I wonder what'll happen to MC. Their fate is literally in the hands of the angel and that's just lovely angst factors.

I really struggled to keep it comprehensible while also staying within the word count so I'm really happy to hear you liked it! And that you liked him!! I had a lot of fun writing and designing him, and trying to keep him innocent while also making sure he waves a few red flags around.
I tried to leave the story open ended enough that I could continue their story in the future (and hopefully actually show his name!) but also enough to stand on it's own as a little moment between the two.
Just make sure to give him lots of headpats while he's in there! Otherwise he may pout
